Field Trip to Heritage Park

One of my favourite places to go in Calgary is Heritage Park. A lovely recreation of Calgary's past... there is something from all eras and all of it is original... these pics are of Bethy's field trip which I was so excited to go on with her.. (Daddy had some bonding time with Fin..) they were finishing up their year long unit on Canada's past. which focused on three communities in Canada.. they seemed to really know their stuff as we ran from exhibit to exhibit and they knew all about the oldest settler in Calgary.. and "Father Doucette".. and how they made their livings, etc.. They enjoyed time in the old schoolhouse... pretending to write their spelling words.. and the moms treated them to a lively rendition of "God save the Queen" as we noticed it was on the opening exercises agenda. and we weren't sure the kids had heard it before... ! A lovely day, and good memories for Bethany and I.
